Offering Integrative Psychotherapy and Counseling
Individuals, couples and families have the power to heal themselves, though it is sometimes necessary to supplement that effort with private mental health care. My approach is compassionate and very effective for addressing clients' presenting concerns, as well as new issues that may arise in response to life challenges during the course of therapy. Clients have mentioned that they experience my participation in their healing process as supportive, non-judgmental, and respectful of individual and cultural differences.
Wellness is encouraged through genuine rapport and thoughtful dialogue with each client. My work is creative and present-centered, while also grounded in traditional psychodynamic treatment and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Literature (fiction and non-fiction) and animal-assisted psychotherapy are sometimes used. Sessions are offered on a brief or longer-term basis. New clients are welcome, including those who are unable to afford insurance or standard psychotherapy fees.
Trauma and PTSD; children and adults with Asperger Syndrome and their families; children of addict(s); suicide survivors; combat veterans and/or their families; multicultural clientele; and adult children of parents with mental illness.
